Thanks to Dan’s bargain hunting ability, I called Emerald and will be getting a refund! We had to cancel our existing booking and lose our $1,000 deposit, which would have freaked me out, but for Dan’s intel!
We rebooked using the Black Friday sale, under which the second guest sails for free. They wouldn’t let me rebook in Category C that we had originally, so we are up a couple of categories to S on the Horizon deck. Apparently the cabin is a bit larger and we get continental breakfast, pre-dinner canapés and after-dinner sweet treats served in our suite. There are also two items of laundry every day – you can bet I’ll be taking advantage of that! When the dust settles, Emerald will be issuing us a refund cheque for $2,020.


Luanne and Dan went for the ultimate upgrade and are in a One Bedroom Owners Suite, across the hall from us. In my opinion, the money was already out the door, so why not take advantage of an upgrade when the opportunity presents itself!
