Breakfast and a hurry to get packed up and out of our rooms before 8:30, but then we sat in the lounge waiting for our turn to leave.
We left for the airport at 11:20 and seemed to take the very long way round to get out of the city. We arrived at the airport at around 12:20, where we said goodbye to John and Sue and the other Brits.
We passed through security quickly, but were held up when they wanted to check my body wash! We still had time to find a restaurant for a snack and, of course, a beer, before boarding our flight to Zurich at 2:20. The lack of space for everyone’s carry on always causes a problem, and apparently there was a thunderstorm over Zurich. Eventually everyone was settled and we left Hungary at 3:20, instead of 2:45. A most uncomfortable flight, but we were thankful it was short. There was also quite a bit of turbulence, which is why I always keep my seatbelt in.
We arrived Zurich at 4:39pm, found our way to the train station in the airport and caught IC8 to Bern and then IC 371 which was 13 minutes late, in the direction of Interlaken Ost.

We arrived at Interlaken West at 8:10pm, where it was raining pretty steadily, but we followed Therese’s clear instructions and easily found our AirBnB through the rain.
I messaged Therese that we had arrived and she came to greet us. The apartment is perfectly located, a short walk from the train and bus station, in Unterseen.

Even in the rain, the views from the accommodation are pretty special!

We unpacked and then used umbrellas provided by Therese to walk over to the small grocery store. We bought coffee, cream, sugar, yogurt (I think), a banana, and a croissant for breakfast. We also wanted something simple for dinner, so we went from being presented with gourmet, delicious meals on the ship, to eating fusilli with Barilla marinara sauce and shredded Gruyère (I mean, we ARE in Switzerland) cheese! Also delicious and very satisfying. The common denominator might be that we were drinking rosé wine!

Meanwhile, Luanne and Dan are staying in Budapest for a couple of days and Sharon and Dean are now in Luzern.
Here’s hoping for bluer skies tomorrow! By the way, the internet here is WONDERFUl compared to what we experienced on the ship!
