Saturday June 8, flying home

A last view of Chapel Bridge

We took the train from Luzern at 8:35am to arrive in Zurich airport at 9:44am. We said our goodbyes to Luanne and Dan and found our way to the ticket counter for Air Canada to check our bags. Zurich airport is huge and we were basically lost and just following signs. Eventually we found our gate and our flight left at 2.

I picked aisle seats for both of us, and I really lucked out with a guy who seemed to think half of my seat was his! I got my “bus elbows” out and reclaimed my space. For the record, I am okay with him having the armrest, because he was stuck on an inside seat, but that does not entitle him to my space too! Haha. Anyway, flying west during the day feels like it is easier since there is not as much pressure to try to sleep. I watched “Killers of the Flower Moon”, which book Gary and I tried to listen to when we were driving from Arizona, but got bogged down in the details. The movie was very interesting. I also watched “About Time”, which I absolutely loved and the first episode of “Ted Lasso”. We get two free months of Apple TV from Air Canada, so will be binge watching that series, for sure.

We arrived in Toronto, had a beer and found our gate for our flight to Winnipeg. By this time, I was really starting to lag, and just wanted to be home. We got home at 10pm after 21 hours of travel.

I always say we are so blessed to be able to travel and explore different parts of the world, and equally blessed to be able to come back to our comfortable, happy home.

On Sunday we unpacked, did laundry, went grocery shopping and picked up Hildy. There is lots to do to get set up for summer, but not having to go to work, makes that easy!
